Here is an initial sketch-up of the book concept. It's odd, but sometimes I have to keep a book title and cover in my head as I approach the construction of it. Very strange, I realize.
I think you may be on to something. I could see it going more towards the Soviet propaganda poster style mixed with a little 1980s mac commercial in it...
Based on your cover you have some talent. Think about The Invention of Hugo Cabret. Of course I'm assuming that students might read the book as well. But if your aiming for adults think about how the evolution of the novel in the 19th century, as commentary on the industrial revolution it changed the way people accessed literature. Maybe the righting of the book on paper has parallels for your characters the same way that social media and the new evolution of digital books has relevance to today. But, its your story, which is the funniest thing I've read in years. I'll keep reading and smearing your site across my PLN. By the way our new classroom technology integration specialist etc... loves it as well

ReplyDeleteHave you thought of setting up the book as a hybrid comic test?
ReplyDeleteThat would be difficult for me. I'm not much of an artist, but still that might be fun as well.
